The coach house lies within the owners grade 2 listed property in the heart of the countryside. Cantref is 1mile from the village of Llanfrynach and 4 miles from the historic town of Brecon. It is a parish of scattered homes and farms.
The cottage is on one storey (A step to get in and out ). It is tastefully furnished to a high standard with a mix of modern and traditional. It has underfloor heating.
Kitchen: Modern Oak units, full size oven and ceramic hob, washing machine, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, filter coffee maker, etc.
Shower Room: Large shower (with small lip to step in) handbasin, toilet, shaver point. Hifi speaker for music whilst singing in the shower.
Bedroom: Double bed, wardrobe and clothes chests. A hairdryer is supplied.
Lounge: Sofa bed, Sky TV, DVD, video and hifi. Note: If the use of sofa bed is required a fee applies for extra linen and extras in welcome pack. Internet connection is available on request.
Patio and garden: There is a small patio with barbecue and furniture for dining al fresco. Steps leading to a small lawned area with water feature and space to relax on the sun loungers.
All bed linen and towels etc. are included. A substantial welcome pack for a snack on your arrival and for your first breakfast is on hand.
We are very conscious about the environment - providing recycling, using eco products within the cottage and sourcing some locally produced food for the welcome hamper. We currently hold the the Green Tourism Award Silver Award.
We have a wealth of local knowledge and if you need any advice on walks, driving routes etc we will be happy to help. There is a comprehensive file of tourist literature and local amenities.
We regret that we do not accept pets However we do have two very friendly cats that we hope our guests like. They are not supposed to enter the cottage - but do try to gain entry. No smoking in the cottage.
The cottage has a substantial welcome pack on arrival which consists of a small selection of beverages: tea, coffee etc, 2 pints of semi skimmed milk, small carton of butter/spread, small brown bread,bacon, eggs. Maybe yoghurts or grapefruit, sometimes soup (in the colder months), and always a bottle of wine.
There are lots of pub restaurants with varied menus and to suit all budgets within a few miles of the cottage. There are a selection of restaurants, cafes and take-aways in Brecon 4 miles away.
The cottage is in the heart of the countryside in an area of scattered farms and homes. It is set within the grounds of the main house- an old Rectory which is grade 11 listed. The surrounding countryside is very scenic. The village of Llanfrynach (with pub) is 1 and half miles away. Historic town of Brecon is 4 miles away with its cathedral, museums, theatre, cinema etc.
Riding stables and adventure farm in close proximity. Llangorse Lake - sailing, bird watching etc. - 4 miles. Llangorse rope centre. Hay on Wye - town of books and really nice individual small shops, cafes, restaurants - 10 miles. Dan y Orgof Show Caves - 30 miles. Big Pit (underground coal mine) 25 miles. Elan Valley (scenic reservoirs and dams) 35 - 40 miles. Red Kite Centre 30 miles. West wales coast or the Gower - about 60 - 75 miles. Cardiff with Castle, National Museum, St Fagans Folk Museum, Millenium Stadium, etc - 40 miles.
