If it is peace and tranquility that you are seeking, then Celyn is the place for you. Situated at the foot of the famous Watkin Path route up Snowdon, this detached 17th Century Welsh longhouse is beautifully set up for a wonderful holiday.
Celyn sleeps four plus cot in two bedrooms, each with either a superking size double bed or twin beds. Pets by arrangement.
Celyn has been completely refurbished to very high standards with many facilities to make your stay comfortable and relaxed.
Set in its own large garden, the cottage sleeps four people plus a cot and has two bedrooms, each of which offers a choice of super-king double bed or twin beds. It also has a luxury bathroom and a sitting room with a very unusual feature fireplace incorporating a walk-through tunnel.
Other facilities include central heating, a superbly equipped kitchen with microwave, full sized cooker, fridge with ice box and dishwasher. There is a laundry with washing machine and tumble drier, hair driers, picnic equipment, barbecue, garden furniture, a heated boot room, a woodburner, a cot and a high chair.
Electricity, oil and an initial supply of wood are included in the price of your holiday rental. A folder with detailed instructions for all the equipment and a visitor's book with comments from previous guests are kept in the cottage. A telephone for making local and emergency calls and for receiving incoming calls is available. Bed linen, towels and tea towels are provided and are also included in the cost of renting the cottage. There is an internet cafe about 400 metres away.
There is a good quality hifi (cd/cassette/radio) in the cottage. However, there is no signal available to receive television at Celyn (not even Sky), but there is a dvd/usb tv to watch films etc and a video and dvd player in each bedroom. A large selection of videos, dvds, cds, tapes, books and games suitable for all ages is provided. There is comprehensive tourist information kept within the cottage.

For the energetic, there is almost every type of outdoor activity you can think of within easy reach of the cottage. There are two lakes within a few hundred yards of the property where it is possible to enjoy swimming, boating or fishing. Countless walks are possible straight from Celyn's front door.
The Llyn Peninsula with its many sandy beaches and water sport facilities is only a short drive away.
Many of the local towns and villages are extremely pretty and offer a good range of interesting shops. However, it is possible to find all you could need in the nearest village, Beddgelert, only three miles away. There is also a strong local art and craft presence and both cinemas and leisure centres are within easy reach. A wide range of excellent places to eat and drink is available throughout the region catering for every taste.
There are also many places of interest to visit including castles, slate and copper mines and many museums and exhibitions. Steam railways are a feature of the area. One goes right to the summit of Snowdon itself.
Wifi is available in the cottage for no charge. There is an internet Smart tv and Blu-ray player with tv, radio, films and much more via BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, BBC News, Crackle (free films), Netflix, Love Film etc (usage subject to the vagaries of the internet).
