The Farm at Snead

Montgomery Bed and Breakfast £35 to £40 per night

Alan and Sandra Jones will be pleased to welcome you to The Farm, Snead, between Bishop's Castle and Churchstoke, where the Camlad River winds its way through the beautiful border country of Shropshire, England and Powys (Montgomeryshire), Wales.

For relaxation, sit on the bank under the old Oak tree overlooking our large wildlife pool and let the world go by. Mallard, Teal, Heron, Coot and Moorhen will frequently be your companions.

Accommodation:

The early 19th Century Farmhouse is large with full central heating and a log fire in the dining room. The first-floor en-suite bedrooms (one double, one twin/superking) are spacious, south-facing and overlook the garden with views to the surrounding countryside. We also offer a ground-floor en-suite double bedroom.

All bedrooms have TV, clock radio alarm, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryer. Wifi internet access is available in all rooms.

Montgomery and local area:

We offer you an ideal base for walking and touring in this unspoilt area, with its wealth of wildlife, close to Offa's Dyke, the Stiperstones, Longmynd and Stretton Hills. The Roundton National Nature Reserve is within sight of our farm.

There are many historic houses, castles and market towns within easy reach including Powis Castle and Gardens, Stokesay, Montgomery, Ludlow and Shrewsbury.

The new grass-roofed "Secret Hills" Discovery Centre at Craven Arms is well worth a visit with its Mammoth display, simulated balloon flight showing a journey over Shropshire from the air, many more displays and a nature walk.
