David Bellamy

David Bellamy specialises in painting mountain and wild coastal scenes, and his paintings have reached private collections in many parts of the world. He is the author of nine books illustrated with his own paintings, the latest of which, "Coastal Landscapes", was published by Harper Collins in 2002. APV Films has produced four videos on watercolour painting by Mr Bellamy, and also videos of his series for HTV, "Painting Wild Wales".

Through his painting and writing, David Bellamy hopes to bring about a greater awareness of the threats to the natural environment, and he is particularly active in conservation of wild areas. David Stoves

Born in Warwickshire in 1947, David Stoves was educated at Bridgnorth Grammar School and studied at Shrewsbury School of Art, Loughborough College of Art, and then Birmingham University, gaining a B.A. (Hons). He has taught at schools & colleges in Grimsby, Wolverhampton and Kidderminster, and more recently, classes in Portrait & Life Drawing at Ludlow, as well as being the guiding light of The Corvedale Artists, based in Munslow. A botanical recorder, his work has been exhibited at the Natural History Museum in London; he regularly exhibits at the Silk Top Hat Gallery in Ludlow, and his work has also been shown at many other galleries in England, Wales and France.

In the recent exhibition of his work at the Tower House Gallery we saw some examples from the great variety of David's work, from figure studies and portraits, and drawings made at Shrewsbury and Hereford clubs, to the landscapes and flower paintings in oils - the latter a great favourite with collectors. David Stoves also paints portraits to commission.
