Capel-y-Ffin

St Mary's Church at Capel-y-Ffin was built in 1762 on the site of an earlier church. With an interior of just 4 by 8 metres it is one of the smallest churches in the country. This small village is on a minor road linking Hay-on-Wye with Llanvihangel Crucorney, near Abergavenny, which climbs the dramatic Black Mountains which overlook Hay-on-Wye, before descending the Gospel Pass to Capel-y-Ffin and on to Llanthony. BE WARNED that this ancient, winding road gets quite busy in summer, and is very narrow in parts so rather difficult to pass other cars.
