This carved tomb the burial place of John Morgan who was, in 1535, the last governor of Skenfrith and Monmouthshire's representative in parliament. His wife is also buried in the tomb, which is thought to have been placed here by the Morgan children. The four Morgan sons are carved on one side, and on the other are four unknown women in the dress of the day.
