The immediate charm of Aberdovey rarely fails to make an impression upon its visitors; every year many return from all round the world for some seaside magic to lift their spirits. As you approach Aberdovey from the A493 see the Dovey Estuary glittering to your left, dotted with boats and dinghies you just have to stop your car and discover more about this delightful harbour town.

Along the seafront there's a choice of cafes, restaurants, art galleries and boutiques to explore and the distinct lack of fruit machines and arcades in Aberdovey only seems to add to its appeal. The beach is popular with watersports enthusiasts, everything from sailing lessons, canoeing and fishing goes on here. Further on you'll find the beach is practically deserted and a peaceful place for a stroll, looking across you'll see the beautiful dunes at Ynys Las about a mile across the water.

Sailing regattas and races take place on a regular basis. There is also a rail link. Golfers will be pleased to know that there is an 18 hole course set between the coastal dunes and the cambrian mountains.
