There is a modern shower room with double shower cubicle, and a four poster bed in the master bedroom, which has delightful views of the river Llugwy running along the bottom of the garden.

On the doorstep there is a local shop with a cafe as well as 3 specialist outdoor shops, along with pubs and footpaths galore into the surrounding hills and valleys. Just down the road is the Welsh National Mountain centre of Plas-y-Brenin with its indoor climbing wall, dry ski slope, indoor swimming pool, canoeing and kayaking lake and other facilities. This all provides an excellent location for touring, relaxing, hill walking, rock climbing, canoeing/kayaking, mountain biking and other adventurous activities. Arguably the best location from which to explore Snowdonia.

Roger Bowen "We had a great time and the cottage was great, we managed to climb Tryfan and Snowdon and had some really good walks with the dog, the cottage is really well located and very comfortable we will certainly book again in the near future."

Robert Wooton "We found the cottage to be well equipped, spotlessly clean and very homely"

Sue Edge "The cottage was everything and we both enjoyed it a lot and will definitely be booking again. I'm only sorry we didn't book for two weeks. Everything we needed was there, you had certainly thought of everything."

Richard Walsh "What a lovely little place you have there! We had a very enjoyable stay and hope to return some day :) You guys must have put a lot of effort into making the cottage so nice!"

Liz Harrison "We had a wonderful time thank you. The cottage is fantastic, a real home from home and you are so organised, everything had being thought of for us. We recommend you to everyone we talk to about the holiday. We got to see lots of river levels along with the rain lol. It was a very relaxing and peaceful week."

The village has three hotels: Bryn Tyrch, Cobdens and the Tyn-y-Coed, all of which offer bar meals, with vegetarian food a speciality of the Bryn Tyrch. There are also several cafes: the Pinnacle Cafe, Clogwyn Outdoor Shop Café (the local garage), and Bryn Glo Café.

Betws-y-coed just a few miles away offers a wide selection of hotels, bars and restaurants being the largest inland tourist resort in Wales.

At the far end of Betws-y-coed is the hotel/restaurant Ty Gwyn (the White House) which is highly recommended for it's food.

Capel Curig is in the heart of Snowdonia's mountains and hills, surrounded by the villages of Betws-y-coed, Beddgelert and Llanberis. Within a short drive are the popular coastal tourist resorts of Conwy, Porthmadog and Llandudno with their beaches, rich history and tourist attractions.

The area is perfect for walkers and climbers with Snowdonia's 14 three thousand foot peaks all within easy reach for enthusiasts, but with plenty of gentler, lower level walks to suit the less energetic.

There is a comprehensive collection of maps and tourist information leaflets etc at the cottage to help you make the most of your stay at Riverbank Cottage.

There are 2 basic bicycles at the cottage available for hire if requested. One 'standard' size ladies and one 'standard' gent's. Cost £5 per bike for the duration of your booking. Please book in advance or ring during your stay for lock codes.

On making a booking, terms/conditions and a booking form will be sent to you (usually via e-mail).
