One and a half miles from the historic market town of Machynlleth (which still holds a traditional street market every Wednesday), Penrhosmawr is within walking distance to the local amenities.

Machynlleth is bursting with history and natural beauty and there is plenty to do for people of all age groups.

For nature lovers there is the Dovey Osprey Project where the BBC Springwatch programme was filmed, as well as the Ynys Hir RSPB centre.

Beach lovers will be thrilled at the choice of several costal towns with golden sandy beaches and harbours. Aberdovey offers a range of watersports including kite surfing for the more adventurous.

People who love culture will enjoy visiting the Moma art gallery in Machynlleth or the Arts Centre in Aberystwyth.

The Centre of Alternative Technology (CAT) is a fantastic educational day out for the family, followed by a souvenire shopping trip to the Corris craft centre for localy made crafts and maybe a trip around King Arthur's Labyrynth.

For a relaxing day why not visit Plas Talgarth Country Club with its gym, sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi and swimming pool. Plas Talgarth also has a beauty spa (appointments should be made asap to avoid disappointment).

Penrhosmawr is an ideal base for walkers and cyclists as it is within easy access of Cader Idris mountain, Glyndwrs Way and many other footpaths. Mountain bikers are near to the Red Bull Hardline, Dinas Mawddwy and Coed Y Brenin (where bikes can be hired for the day).
