Olygfa Cwm

Olygfa Cwm (Valley View) is situated on a working organic farm. It overlooks a tranquil valley, a haven for those who love to be in the countryside. We have a suckler herd of beef cattle, a small flock of Llanwenog, Suffolk and Lleyn sheep and a lovely collie dog called Jess.

At the bottom of the valley, there is a beautiful, bubbling river, with its waterfalls, rockpools and little shallow beaches, which is lovely for children to play in (well supervised) on a hot sunny day.

You can walk through the cool woods and enjoy a picnic in the bottom fields, which, on a hot summers day in June, is home to butterflies, dragonflies and damselflies. You can see the bunds (small pools) in the lane where the frogs lay their frogspawn in February, and which become home to many tadpoles for several months. There are red kites, buzzards, swallows and many other types of small birds. The hedgerows have many different wild flowers to spot, and you can wander up the lane to the top fields where you can see miles of beautiful Welsh countryside.

On a clear night it is fantastic for stargazing. It's peaceful and relaxing and truly away from it all.

The Accommodation

The caravan is a clean and comfortable caravan which sleeps 6 in 3 bedrooms. There is a double bedroom, one twin and one twin with a bunk bed.

The bedrooms all have duvets and/or blankets and pillows, but duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels are not provided

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash handbasin. The kitchen is well equipped, and has a full sized gas cooker, fridge and microwave. There is a living/dining room with gas fire, dining table, and radio/cd player.( A highchair is available on request.) We aim to provide an "away from it all" holiday, so instead of a TV, we have well stocked bookcases and a family games cupboard. There is also a small pair of binoculars and flower and bird identification books.

We cannot get mobile broadband but we do have mobile phone reception.

Outside

The caravan garden has a childs slide and sandpit, wooden table and chairs and a small rotary washing line, but is not totally enclosed. Families are most welcome to see the life on the farm, but as it is a working farm, children need to be well supervised.

It is set in its own garden (which is not enclosed) off the main farmyard, and has parking space for 2 cars.

Attractions and Activities

For hillwalkers The Preseli Hills are very close by. Maps of the local area can be provided

Cardigan Bay, Tenby and Saundersfoot and many beautiful Pembrokeshire beaches

The quaint town of Narberth with many interesting shops and cafes,

A riding stables and a Golf course,

Llys-y-Fran Country park where you can hire bicycles and boats

and many other interesting places are all within easy travelling distance, as well as local pubs which serve good food.

We have a large selection of brochures in the caravan which describe the many local attractions and activities in this area of Pembrokeshire.

Gas and electricity are both included.

A £50 non-refundable deposit is reqired to confirm the booking.

The balance to be paid, together with a seperate £50 cheque security deposit,(The security deposit will be returned subject to no damage or excess cleaning) 4 weeks before the start of the holiday, or by bank transfer please if booked at short notice.

Sorry we cannot accommodate pets as this is a working farm and the caravan is strictly Non- Smoking.

Please vacate the caravan by 10am on the day of departure. Arrival after 4pm please.

We are sorry but we do not take single sex groups or groups of under 21s.
