Sitting in just over half an acre of enclosed grounds, Talbenny Barn is in a delightful rural setting on the Marloes Peninsula about a mile from the Pembrokeshire coast path, 2 miles from the sought after villages of Little Haven and Broad Haven, and 5 miles from the sailing mecca at Dale and the marine park surrounding Skomer Island.
Hawthorn Cottage sleeps two in a double room, with a single bed for a third person or seperate beds as needed. It is not suitable for toddlers as the bedroom is open to the stairs.
It has a large well equipped kitchen diner with electric cooker, washing machine, microwave and an extremely well equipped kitchen.
The comfortable living room has a lovely high beamed ceiling, two comfy sofas, a TV and DVD, books and maps. It has a large wood burner.
Patio doors lead out to the west facing garden which is semi wild with many has a small fire-pit/barbecue and garden furniture. It gets the afternoon and evening sun.
The parking is right by the front of the cottage, as well as its own drying line. There is also a shared outside tap for rinsing wet suits etc.
The cottage has oil central heating.
For larger groups of up to 8 people, Hawthorn and Ash can be rented together.
Talbenny is a small rural Hamlet surrounded by pretty lanes and hedges. They lead in all directions on Marloes peninsula, easy to get to all the villages, walks and beaches.
Surfing, boating, diving, wild life islands are all nearby.
The Barn is centrally situated in the Pembrokeshire National Park. A ten minute walk to the Coast Path and a twenty minute walk to Little Haven with its cafés and restaurants. Surrounded by country lanes that are great for cycling and walking and an easy drive to some of the most spectacular beaches and wildlife areas islands. The wonderful circular coastal walks of the Marloes Peninsula and Dale Head (known as the sunniest part of Wales) are close by.
It is a surprisingly quiet location, so near to the coast, and offers a calm oasis from which to explore the area. In one direction is Dale, a boating mecca and Marloes Sands, a green award winning, beautiful wild beach. Marloes Haven offers summer boat trips to see the puffins and other wildlife of Skomer Island.
St Brides Haven is three miles down the road and is a lovely safe swimming spot with white sand and rock pools. It is also in the Marine Park and offers some of the best diving and snorkelling in Britain.
Go in the opposite direction and you come to Little Haven and the sweep of Broad Haven blue flag sands. Newgale Beach a little further on is a long sweep of surfing beach.
The county town of Haverfordwest is only 11 miles away, offering all the usual facilities including supermarkets and weekly farmers market.
Oakwood Theme Park, Folly Farm and Blue lagoon are all within a half hours drive. Tenby, St. David's and The Preselli Hills are also within easy reach.
Car is recommended.
Train station is 8 miles away.
