The Surrounding Area

Sit on the harbour wall and watch the dolphins (maybe even adopt one.) Take a boat trip through the sparkling waters (a Special Area of Conservation) and spot porpoise, seals and marine bird life, fish for bass, try kayaking, coasteering and scuba diving or simply relax and enjoy the sea air whilst sunbathing on the beach.

There is fabulous coastal walking along the Ceredigion Coastal Path and fans of Dylan Thomas will love the ‘Trail’ around some of his favourite haunts – is this the renowned ‘cliff perched town’ in Under Milk Wood?

Aberaeron

Aberaeron is within a short drive – with its gaily painted houses, craft/gift shops, restaurants and pubs waiting for you to discover. Drive a couple of miles inland through lush countryside to Llanerchaeron (National Trust) an 18th century Welsh gentry estate with house, walled gardens and home farm – a great family day out with lots to see and activities throughout the year.

Llangrannog, once infamous as a smuggler’s haunt, is a pretty seaside cove at the mouth of a narrow valley with a sheltered, sandy beach overlooked by ‘The Ship’ – good bar food and drink, two cafes and a convenience store.
