Nestling on the award winning Heritage Coast at Southerndown in the Vale of Glamorgan (an area of outstanding beauty), Slade Cottage and The Hen House are two luxurious holiday cottages offering the ultimate in style, comfort and location. What's more, both properties are located only a picturesque two minute stroll from a beautiful sandy beach and panoramic views of the Bristol Channel, whilst being less than 15 minutes from J35 (Pencoed) of the M4 motorway.

Slade Cottage is a large, spacious and well appointed five bedroom cottage comfortably sleeping 9 people. Downstairs there are two sitting rooms, one a large airy conservatory with a wonderful view over the 6 acre wooded garden belonging to Slade Farm. The fitted kitchen and dining room also has a view of the large garden, plus a two oven oil Aga. There is a downstairs bedroom and cloakroom. The utility room has a washing machine and drier and is the ideal place for your sandy shoes or muddy wellies after a stroll to the local beach at the bottom of the garden.The first floor at Slade Cottage has four bedrooms, again with magnificent views over the garden. All bedrooms are either double or twin bedrooms. The recently refurbished bathroom has a bath with a freestanding shower. There is plenty of room for a travel cot. A small garden to the back of the Slade Cottage is perfect for barbecue's, with the front garden experiencing south facing views.

The Hen House is a converted 19th Century Hen House. Recently renovated to a high standard, it is full of character, has many original features and makes for a fun holiday. It has three bedrooms and sleeps up to 5 people.The ground floor has two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The first floor has a large beamed open plan sitting room with French doors leading into the expansive garden on one side and a barbecue area on the other. Overlooking the sitting room is a large dining area and fitted kitchen, which leads to another bedroom.

The Hen House at Slade Holiday Cottages are both ideal for people who love the great outdoors. Guided Walks can be arranged along the stunning local Heritage Coast where you'll be able to experience the wide range of wildlife that inhabit our coastline. For those of you though who may be looking for a touch more exercise, either bring your own or let us hire you a few cycles which will allow you to explore the locality at your leisure.

Fishing

Being less than two minutes from the coast, there's very good Fishing to be had at a number of local hotspots. It's not only Sea Fishing that's available - there are also a number of game and coarse lakes, ponds and rivers which provide very good sport in season.

Golf

With Southerndown Golf Club just minutes away, why not experience a course which golfing legend Peter Allyss once described as 'one of the finest tests of golf in Wales'. A Par 70 links course Southerndown offers fantastic panoramic views of the Bristol Channel to the North Devon coast, towards Swansea Bay and the Gower peninsula, down the Ogmore estuary towards Porthcawl and all around the hills and valleys of South Wales.

Horse Riding

For those of you looking to see the coastline from horse back, why not book a ride on the beach at Ogmore by Sea? With a variety of one and two hour treks available, you'll be able to pass through dunes, canter through the surf, and descend into valleys with truly breathtaking scenery, being able to get a much closer look at the local wildlife, including kingfishers, egrets, herons, swans and more.
