Josie's Annexe
Nestled in the little Wye Valley village of Whitney on Wye, just over 4 miles from the famous literary town of Hay-on-Wye, is the beautiful and stylish newly refurbished Josie's Annexe.
Available on a B&B basis, or as a self catering holiday let, it can be hired together with its sister apartment, The Agent's Office, or separately.
Open all year round, you can stay as long as you like - a day, a week, a month or more. Pre-select your breakfast ingredients and arrive to a stocked fridge to prepare at your leisure - no breakfast time slots.
Josie's Annexe boasts under floor heating, a mini kitchen with (two ring hob, fridge, crockery and cutlery, and cooking utensils) with slate work surfaces, internet access, luxurious shower room, a flat screen TV *not currently connected to ariel, and DVD player (with ever growing selection of DVDs) and its own garden area with a fish pond, shingling and decking. A high chair is available upon request. The apartment is suitable for those with difficulty walking as it just has one step by the front door, no internal steps, and a large shower cubicle.
For a relaxed romantic getaway in a beautiful location, look no further. Our local pub/restaurant is sat on the River Wye just a minute's walk away. The suite sleeps two, and a single bed and/or travel cot are available on request.
Dinner Options
If you are part of a party of 6 or more we can offer 'private dining' in our home. We own and run a catering company - Rococo catering - and would be more than pleased to speak with you regarding a leisurely evening with fantastic food. We can cater to your requirements (vegetarian, vegan, etc) and plan a menu to suit your palate.
Alternatively The Boat Inn pub is just 30 seconds or so walk away - great plentiful pub food there. Hay-on-Wye (4 miles away) has some fab pub/restaurants, an Indian restaurant and Chinese take away.
Impressive local restaurants include The Felin Fach Griffin (Brecon), Red Indigo (on the way to Hereford) and The Stagg Inn at Titley.
A little area info
There are a range of activity facilities close at hand. Kayaking - there is a stop off point 30 seconds or so away at The Boat Inn pub. We are also only about 20 miles from Brecon with its fabulous walks and scenery.
We're 5 miles from Hay on Wye, the famous literary town where you will also find cafes, shops (besides book shops), market on a Thursday morning, antique shops, an ice cream parlour.
We are just 20 miles from breathtaking Brecon.
Hereford is 15 miles away, which offers shops galore, the cathedral, pubs, bars, plenty of restaurants, a cinema, kids playbarn, areas of historic interest and miles more.
Leominster is also about 20 miles away - loads of antique shops amongst other things.
Local to name just a few
Small breeds farm park & owl centre - Open 364 days of the year. Great for kids - last time I went there were so many different species of animal, loads of owls and even reindeer.
Cantref adventure farm & riding centre - Award-winning family attraction. Live shows, pony rides, indoor play area, sledge rides.
Powis Castle and Garden - 800 year old castle with beautiful 26 acre gardens.
Paddles and Pedals - Canoe hire in Hay on Wye. From here if you stop at the Boat Inn pub you are 30 seconds walk from us.

Payment
We require 50% deposit when booking your stay with the remainder to be paid upon check out. Unfortunately we are unable to accept cards so a cheque or bank transfer is fine for the deposit and cash is preferred for the balance upon check out.
We are as flexible as we possibly can be with regard to checking in/out times as we appreciate different people have different requirements and timescales but our usual check in time is any time after 3pm and check out by 11am.
