Have you ever fancied spending your holiday in an 800 year old manor house previously owned by Henry VIII? Well now you can! Llanthony Secunda Manor is situated in the sleepy village of Caldicot where you have easy access to explore both England and Wales.

In this glorious holiday home, steeped in history, you can step back into medieval times and take in the breathtaking property with heavy oak doors, tapestries, ancient stone walls, stone spiral staircases, open log fires, bread ovens, four poster beds and spectacular antiques. For those of you who love your creature comforts, there is no need to worry as modern facilities have been cleverly incorporated so that the ancient atmosphere is retained. The kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped but if you fancy a meal out, The Castle Inn is just 100 yards from the manor!

The manor sleeps 7 adults comfortably in the three bedrooms. Additional beds can also be set up in the lounge for children if required. There is a large master bedroom located in the 15th century wing of the manor. This was originally dormitory room for the monks of Llanthony. It has a king size four poster medieval carved bed as well as en-suite facilities. The second bedroom also has a king size bed which is on a hand carved frame, and there is also a single bed in this room. The third bedroom is a single or twin room with basin and mirror. These two rooms overlook the front gardens. On this level there is also a large bathroom with claw and foot bath and separate shower.

You will find plenty of entertainment at the manor. The cosy, relaxing lounge has a flat screen TV and DVD player. Broadband internet can be accessed throughout and cables are also provided. An ideal selection of DVDs books and board games are available.

The gardens surround the manor on three sides with a high stone wall to the rear and enclosing the side gardens. Enjoy a barbecue in the large garden. Ample seating is provided on wooden outdoor furniture. Adults and children both can have fun on the olympic quality trampoline. Our guests will delight in the private medieval garden where they can practice the art of courtly love. There is also a children's play area with a large play house.

Llanthony Secunda Manor can be rented on a self-catering basis. A welcome package is provided for all our guests. If you would like to have shopping arranged in advance of your arrival we can accommodate this. We also provide wine, champagne, and chocolates upon request at an additional charge. We are happy to offer advice on local restaurants and can put you in touch with private caterers for that special occasion. We can recommend transport options and put you in touch with personal tour guides. If there is anything further that you need, we will do our best to help you make arrangements where possible.

Visit Caldicot Castle, Caerwent Roman Town, Chepstow Castle, Cearleon Roman Legion Fortress, Caerphilly Castle, Tredegar House, Cosmeston Medieval Village and Cardiff Castle. If you are looking for a more action packed holiday then Chepstow Activity Centre offers quad biking, 4x4 driving, paint balling, combat laser games and sphere mania. There are also several places for fishing and golfing and other days out can include Clearwell Caves, Chepstow Racecourse and the Forest of Dean Railway. Bristol is only a 20 minute drive, Cardiff is just half an hour away and a tiny bit further is the Roman city of Bath.
