The stone-built cottage on a secluded smallholding between mountains and sea, overlooks Anglesey. It is reached by a tarmac access road that is approximately three quarters of a mile from any traffic and within 2 miles of the Welsh Zip-Wire - "The fastest and longest zip-wire in Europe". Nearby is one of the prettiest and scenic multi-user Green Lanes - Lon Las Ogwen - which stretches from Bangor to Ogwen, and on to Capel Curig.

A stable door lets you into the open plan kitchen/living area with its large picture window that overlooks the fields of the holding, the nearby forest, and breathtaking panoramic views of Anglesey, Penrhyn Castle, Menai Straits, Puffin Island, and, often, incredible sunsets over the adjacent forest. We welcome photo contributions to the Summer House 'manual'.

Accommodation

Three 2'6" seats (two 6'6" and one 6') that double up as comfortable single memory-foam beds are situated around the base of this window. Bedding and linen for all beds are provided. Off this room, there is a separate double bedroom, with clothes storage, bedside cupboards with a clock/radio, and dressing table. Adjacent to the bedroom is a shower room with washbasin, heated towel rail, and lavatory.

The kitchen contains fitted cupboards, microwave, toaster, fridge, gas cooker, cutlery, crockery, and cookware, an iron and ironing board, hair-dryer. As well as the seating/3 beds, the sitting room contains a table, chairs, cupboard storage, freeview tv, dvd/cd player, and a radio/cd player. The ceilings throughout are pine board. The living room is carpeted, the bedroom floor is 'wood' with rugs, and the shower-room is tiled. Heating is by wall-mounted electric convectors. Gas and Electricity are included in the price.

Outside, beneath the picture window, is a large balcony for you to take in the views. It has table and chairs, and a barbecue is available - please ask. Beside the cottage is further 'al fresco' seating. There is room to park one car next to the cottage and further parking is available approximately 25 metres away in another enclosure.

Booking Information

Bookings are from Friday to Friday, arrive after 3pm and vacate the property by 11am on departure date. Please note - follow directions supplied as well as/instead of satnav.

Short breaks are sometimes available, the minimum 3 nights costs 60% of the full price (with no '2 guest only' reduction), 4 nights - 80%, 5 nights, 90%, and 6 nights cost the same as a full week.

No smoking inside the property. A dog is welcome at no extra cost (a second dog might be welcome and costs an added £15) but owners are requested to clean up after them around the cottage area - a bin and scoop are provided but please bring your own bags. Dogs must not be left unattended in the cottage. The field below the cottage can be made available for Guests who want to walk their dogs nearby. Please do not bring electrical appliances to use in the cottage, other than personal equipment such as razor, hair tongs, music.

Choose between "Adventure" or "Rest and Relaxation", or a combination. There are local attractions to suit all ages Take your children to visit an Adventure farm, a mine, the Electric Mountain, Slate museum and Slate caverns, the Greenwood Centre, the Fun Centre, Sea Zoo, Bird World, Butterflies, ride the Snowdon, Padarn Lake, Welsh Highland, and Ffestiniog railways - just for a start. Participate in the great outdoors and learn as you go walking, horse-riding, mountain-biking, climbing, high ropes, the mile-long Zip-Wire, fishing, canoeing, sailing, white water rafting, paintballing, skiing, scenic flights, boat trips, and more. Get involved in rural activities. Explore the stalls on market day in various towns. Learn the history of the many castles; Conway, Penrhyn, Beaumaris, and Caernarfon are 5 to 15 miles from the cottage.

Come home to supper and a glass of wine in your own 'Eagle's Nest' and watch a sunset, listen to the birdsong, and keep an eye open for our resident birds - Buzz the buzzard and his partner Busy, and Mr and Mrs Raven, or one of the fox family. Local walks take in mountain, forest, and moorland with beautiful views across Anglesey, the sea, and mountains - give your dog a treat. If you fancy a moonlit walk, the moon and the Milky Way often create magical 'moonscapes' in late evening.
