A short winter or spring break can be a real tonic, just when you need it most. With lower off season rate, quieter roads, empty beaches and uncrowded countryside there is little wonder that people are discovering the pleasure of an out of season holiday. The ideal setting for curling up in front of a log fire. What could be more relaxing? Phone for availability.

Area information

Llyn, Snowdon's arm, is the dramatically beautiful 24-mile-long peninsula pointing into the Irish Sea. Its status as an official Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, which goes back more than 50 years, recognises the exceptional qualities of its coastline, along which you'll find mile after mile of sandy beaches, towering headlands, sheltered coves and open bays rich in wildlife, all interlinked by the Llyn Coastal Path. Llyn is a stronghold of Welsh culture and language with a fascinating religious heritage. Visitors can trace it all by following the Pilgrim's Route along the peninsula then taking a boat trip to Bardsey Island, a wildlife haven and National Nature Reserve designated by the Countryside Council for Wales.

The Snowdonia Mountains and Coast region is the biggest, boldest mountains in Wales and England and are to be found here in the Snowdonia National Park. There's also a long coastline of sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and glorious estuaries, large castles and steam railways and much much more. Coed-y-Brenin cycling centre within easy reach and the new zip wire and Bounce Below Centre.

Eating out

Criccieth has an excellent choice of places to wine and dine. The Goat Inn serves meals made from fresh local produce. Criccieth is also the home to the famous Cadwalader's ice cream. Local butchers sell Welsh black beef and Welsh Salt marsh lamb (in season), and fresh crab and lobsters (in season).
