The views from the cottage are exceptionally beautiful. It is superb walking country with access to footpaths from the farm. Offa's Dyke path lies on the hill behind this farm. The ancient ruins of Llanthony Priory are a short walk away and a lovely place to enjoy an evening drink in the tiny cellar bar.

Hay-on-Wye, famous for secondhand books is a lovely drive over the Gospel Pass, with breathtaking views. Abergavenny, with its market hall and all amenities, is just ten miles away.

Flagstone Cottage sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. The main room has a well equipped kitchen, and lovely open fire. The French windows open onto the garden with table and chairs where you can relax and enjoy the view. The back door leads into a small garden. There is a single bed downstairs. In the bedroom upstairs is a kingsize double bed. The little mezzanine is accessed by a little spiral staircase through the wardrobe which children love, It is has two children's beds and the ceiling is low, being in the apex of the roof. A travel cot is available which can be put up in the main bedroom. The bathroom is next to the bedroom and the bath has a good shower over. Beds are made up and two sets of towels are supplied.

Art Courses

The owner, Clare is an artist and also offers art courses at the studio on the farm in painting, photography, printmaking and stone-carving.

Local attractions

The beauty of the Black Mountains. The ancient ruins of Llanthony Priory, Abergavenny and its markets, Hay-on-Wye and its famous second-hand bookshops. The Big pit at Blaenavon where ex-miners will guide you around the old coal mine. Raglan Castle, and the smaller but beautiful Whitecastle, are half an hours' drive away. Excellent restaurants - the Walnut Tree, The Hardwick, the Crown at Pantygelli and The Angel in Abergavenny to name a few.

Fishing on local rivers.

Payment information

All linen and towels are included. Electricity and heating included. A good supply of wood for the fire at a small cost. There is a washing machine for your use in adjoining building.
