Set amid specimen trees and gold award winning gardens, in the tranquility of the Dyfi (Dovey) Valley stands Plas Dolguog. This time-honoured site was well chosen for peace and serenity. The 'ancient house' dates back in written history since the 6th century and commands stunning views of the Dyfi Valley and Snowdonia National Park beyond.

Accommodation

Plas Dolguog is a 12 bedroomed country hotel, 6 bedrooms in the main building and 6 in the Stables annexe adjacent. There are 4 ground floor rooms in the Stables annexe, suitable for the less mobile guest. Family rooms to sleep up to 2 adults and 3 children available. Views of the Dyfi Valley and hotel gardens together with terraces, and balconies to sit and enjoy the wildlife.

The splendours of the unspoilt scenery can be surveyed as you sample the superb cuisine whilst you dine in Cu Og's Restaurant. With the foothills of Snowdonia spread before you, enjoy a leisurely breakfast, linger over Sunday lunch, or simply dine by candlelight watching the sun set slowly over the Dyfi Valley. Snacks and A la Carte dinners are served every evening, supported by a varied wine list and well stocked bar.

Hundreds of years of history can be imagined as you relax in the residents lounge, while toasting your toes by the crackling log fire on cooler evenings.

Set in 9 acres of mature grounds, Plas Dolguog is rich in wildflowers and birds of all types, making it an idyllic place to simply sit and relax.

Drying room and cycle store for walkers and cyclist alike.

A high vantage point overlooks the Dyfi Valley where the River Dulas can be seen emerging from its rocky gorge into a broad shingle shored pool in a confluence with the River Dyfi, producing the perfect setting for riverside walks, bird watching or fishing for salmon and sea trout from our own stretch of water.

Resembling a nature reserve in miniature, Plas Dolguog Estate has consecutively, for the last decade, recieved the David Bellamy Gold Award for Conservation, and in 2002 was credited with a special award of excellence.

Situated overlooking Snowdonia National Park, Plas Dolguog is easily accessible being only a couple hours drive from the National motorway network. Just miles from the town clock in Machynlleth on the A489 Newtown Road.

An ideal base for fishing, playing golf at Machynlleth, Borth or Aberdyfi, visiting local attractions such as CAT and King Arthurs Labyrinth, taking a ride on Talyllyn Railway, Vale of Rheidol to Devils Bridge, Corris Railway, Llanfair Light Railway, and lovely clean beaches are close by.
