Moelfre Cottage

Character cottage, sleeps two adults and two children, in a quiet rural village amongst unspoilt countryside. Coast 14 miles. An ideal base for walking, birdwatching and exploring this stunning part of Mid Wales.

The accommodation

There are two bedrooms - a lovely, large double bedroom and a landing bedroom with bunk beds, which is ideal for children - both with wonderful views. Bed linen is provided. Shower and wash basin is upstairs. Downstairs wc.

The fully equipped kitchen has microwave, cooker, fridge and six place settings. There is Sky digital tv in the lounge, and a dvd player (bring your own dvds).

The cottage has oil fired central heating, with radiators in every room.

The peaceful garden has a barbecue and picnic table, and a bench so you can sit and admire the wildlife and views. A padlocked shed is provided for mountain bikes.

Off the road parking, beside the cottage. Pets: One dog is welcome.

Our area

Ideal base for walking and exploring Mid Wales - it's a great place for mountain biking, bird watching and taking in amazing scenery. We live on a farm near the cottage and the Glyndwr's Way Trail crosses our land. We have history all around us: there is a 6ft Sanctuary Stone, dating back 2000 years, the same time as Stonehenge, on one of our fields, which you are most welcome to visit. Nearby also is'Bryn Crogwr' (which means - The Hill of the Hangman) which has wonderful panoramic views of the valley below.

Machynlleth is 7 miles away (less than 10 mins drive) with plenty of gift shops, a supermarket, banks, pubs and restaurants. There's also a bustling market every Wednesday - great for picking up local produce and supplies. The sandy beach at Aberdovey is only 20 mins away, where you can take part in kite surfing, sailing or any other beach activities. For wildlife enthusiasts, the RSPB wildlife reserve at Ynyshir, the base for the BBC Springwatch series, is also 20 mins away, as is the Montgomeryshire Trust's Dyfi Osprey Project at Glandyfi - one of only two nesting sites in Wales for the rare ospreys - well worth a visit.
