Upper Grippath Farm

Upper Grippath Cottages are 5 miles from the M4 motorway, the corridor to South and West Wales. Newport and Cardiff are within 15 minutes drive.

The accommodation

Hafryn has been completely refurbished and is now a two bedroom cottage. It also has the option of a double bedroom on the ground floor if this option suits you better, It has two twin bedrooms up stairs, a lounge/dining area with tv and video, cd radio and broadband internet connection. The lounge has a dining area with seating for four adults. A travel cot is also available on request, as is a high chair. There is a well equipped kitchen with full size cooker with grill, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster and full size fridge freezer. The bathroom has bath with electric shower over, wc, hand basin and shaver point/light. Additional toilet upstairs.

Our other two bedroom cottages are fitted out to the same high standards with two twin rooms, bathroom and either additional shower room or toilet depending on which you linen is provided as are towels for use in shower and bathrooms. All heating and electricity costs are included but breakages must be paid cottages have a washing machine and one has a tumble dryer too. Ironing board and iron and an outdoor washing line are also available for your use.

The location

We are situated on the side of a small mountain which offers the walker lots of opportunities to either stroll around the farm and local area, or for the more adventurous, as a base to embark on the many walks around the area.

We have 40 acres of farmland with sheep, chickens, pigs and horses in residence, so there is an opportunity for the children and adults to get back to nature.

Cyclists are also well catered for. We are at a junction between two major cycle routes following the network of canals in the area and the Shirhowy Valley. Also access to the Cwmcarn mountain bike trial and downhill course.

We have a list of pubs, restaurants and take-aways in the area to suit all tastes and budgets. Just ask and we can suggest local options.

Our area

Nearby castles include Chepstow, Raglan, Cardiff, Caldicot, Penhow, Caerphilly and many and horse riding can also be arranged in the minutes down the road is a leisure Centre offering swimming, tennis, badminton.

Groceries can be purchased and delivered via Tesco, Asda etc - just pre order with our post code, but please ensure you arrange a time that you will be here to recieve your order.
