Llanteglos House was built as a large country residence over 130 years ago. The self-catering lodges are situated in the leafy seclusion of the original orchard and grounds beyond. Situated on a hill overlooking Carmarthen Bay, there are wonderful views across the countryside, including some National Parkland with glimpses of the sea beyond.

The accommodation

'Oak Lodge' is one of the Woodland Lodges (in prime position on the end nearest the field) - Graded Visit Wales 4 - 2 bedrooms (double and twin), bathroom with electric power shower in bath and heated towel rail, open plan kitchen with cooker, microwave, large fridge/freezer, pots, pans, crockery and cutlery, living-dining room with large flat-screen TV/DVD player, glass sliding doors onto secluded south-facing balcony with outside table and chairs. Power is all electric at no additional charge. Storage heating and other electrical heaters available for colder periods.

'Pine Chalet' is one of the Orchard Lodges (built in groups of 4) and is located in a secluded corner of the site. Sleeping 4 - 6 in double bed (accessed by stairs to gallery level), bunk bedded room at ground level, and also a double 4-foot sofa bed in living area. Lodge also has kitchenette off living area with cooker, fridge and microwave, flat-screen television/DVD player and dining table and chairs, bathroom with shower, wash basin and toilet. There is a secluded patio area outside with patio furniture. Storage heating and other electrical heaters available for colder periods.

Garden Lodge Flat "Guest Rooms" . We have one single, two double and one twin-bedded room. Fold-out beds and cots can be provided in addition. Each room has its own en-suite shower and toilet cubicle, television and teacoffee making facility. Smoking and pets are not permitted in these rooms. Note - they are located on first floor, so may not be suitable if difficulty negotiating stairs. We offer these for a room-only rate. The whole flat sleeping up to 7 in four bedrooms had be hired as a self-catering unit (assuming all the rooms are available) but rooms can be hired individually and in that case guests have shared access to the kitchen and living/dining area of the flat. Wifi is accessible in the flat as well as in reception. The flat has central heating.

Internet access - Please note Wifi is available free for our Oak Lodge and Pine Chalet guests from our Reception area (not in the accommodation however). But Wifi can be accessed from the sitting room of the Garden Flat.

Laundry - service washes are provided at a small charge by arrangement at Reception.

Children's Play Area - for use by children 15 and under only and adult supervision is required at all times.

The hire charge includes parking for one vehicle. Additional vehicles, trailers, boats etc. can be arranged with payment of an additional supplement in advance of the stay.

Bikes may not be kept inside the accommodation but can be stored securely elsewhere on the site by arrangement at Reception.

The site tennis court is free and on a first come basis.

The site licensed pub/clubhouse - The Wanderer's Rest Inn is under separate management. Opening times vary according to the season.

The location

Peaceful, rural site but with easy access on good roads to the many and varied visitor attractions of the area.

Our area

Llanteglos is 2 miles from the coastal village of Amroth with its stunning and unspoilt mile-long golden sandy beach - 5 minutes drive or a relaxing half hour amble down the bridle path close to the estate. From Amroth you can take coastal hiking paths in either direction, along the 186 mile Pembrokeshire National Park Coastal Trail heading in the direction of Saundersfoot and Tenby, or the Carmarthen Bay Coastal Trail from the other end of Amroth heading into Carmarthenshire. All these towns have many good pubs and restaurants.

Llanteglos is also close to the many tourist attractions in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire including castles, theme parks (Oakwood, Folly Farm etc), nature reserves, wonderful beaches, St David's Cathedral, Dylan Thomas' Boat House in Laugharne, shopping centres (Narberth, Carmarthen, Haverfordwest etc). Kilgetty, just 5 minutes drive away, has a good-sized supermarket, take-away outlets and tourist information centre.
