| Peter and Carol welcome you to their home, within the National Park, providing some of the most stunning countryside in the Brecon Beacons.
The national Park stretches from Hay-on-Wye in the east to Llandeilo in the west and incorporates the Black Mountains, the Central Beacons and Forest Fawr as well as moorland, forests and gorges, offering the outdoor enthusiasts a massive array of activities including hill walking, mountaineering, canoeing, bird watching, fishing, mountain biking, paragliding, horseriding and sailing on Llangorse lake. Cycles can be hired in Brecon.
For those wanting a relaxing day out why not hire a boat and cruise in beautiful surroundings on the Brecon and Monmouth canal. The canal flows through the village of Talybont. There is a daily bus service to Brecon Crickhowell, and Abergavenny.
Brecon is 10 minutes by car. For an evening out it boasts a theatre and cinema, which has new films on offer on a weekly basis. Leisure facilities are open in the evenings at the Brecon leisure centre, which has a swimming pool, gym, bowling and many other sport activities for you to enjoy. There are excellent pub restaurants in Talybont and surrounding villages.
For directions to Talybont take the A40 from Abergavenny or Brecon and look for the sign to Taybont-on-Usk. To arrive at the Hawthorns you drive past the local shop/post office then turn left over the drawbridge. We are the second cottage on the left. We have a no smoking policy in the cottage.
